Core strengthening isn’t necessarily about building a 6-pack abs. A strong core gives us a sense of centeredness and body awareness that not only enhances our yoga practice, but our everyday lives too. For instance, a strong core, and the engagement of those muscles, allows us to climb stairs without hurting our knees or low back. And, it helps support the low back in cases of prolonged sitting or standing.
Class Description:
Strengthen your core while you work up a sweat from the inside out. Expect slow, yet confined movements designed to strengthen and tone your abdominals and obliques. In this 20-minute class, we begin with core exercises on the back, followed by core work that also involves the arms and shoulders (planks, side planks).
